George Simion drew attention to the problems encountered in the diaspora during the presidential elections, where some polling stations ran out of ballot papers, with queues of more than 1000 people. He called for the urgent dispatch of ballots and an extension of working hours, stressing the importance of Romanians voting abroad. By then, turnout had reached 61.31%, with 1.57 million Romanians voting in the diaspora. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the allegations, saying all polling stations have ballots.
