The United Kingdom has announced that it will rejoin the Erasmus+ program, for the first time since Brexit, starting in 2027. The British government has agreed on a reintegration deal, with a budget of 570 million pounds, which will allow young people from the UK to participate in studies and professional exchange programs within the European Union. Approximately 100,000 people could benefit from this program in the first year, including students and adults taking training courses.

The decision allows British students to study for up to a year at European universities without additional fees, while universities in the UK will be able to accept European students under the same conditions. Those who participate will receive grants to cover living costs abroad.

The Erasmus program, initiated in 1987, has expanded over the years to include work placements and cultural activities. The UK left the program after Brexit, but now the return is considered a "big step forward" by EU officials, who emphasize the importance of strengthening ties between the UK and the European Union.
