The Ministry of Education is in search of a new leader, after Daniel David announced that he has delegated his responsibilities to the secretaries of state, but his resignation has not been signed by Ilie Bolojan. For more than three weeks, no names have been confirmed for taking over the portfolio, and negotiations are taking place between representatives of the university and pre-university sectors. David stated that he expects a quick appointment, mentioning that the ministry's activity is limited to ongoing projects. Luciana Antoci and Marilen Pirtea are the two names being circulated, but neither has accepted the offer. Presidential advisor Sorin Costreie emphasized the need for a quick appointment to boost reforms, and the idea of separating the ministry into two distinct entities has been revisited, considering the differences between the two fields. Education expert Marian Staș highlighted the importance of a strong leader from the pre-university sector to manage the complexity of the educational system.
