The Ministry of Education has announced an extension of the consultation period by one week for integrating suggestions regarding the Romanian Language and Literature curriculum, following intense public debates. Minister Daniel David emphasized that this decision was made to allow for the exploration of some structural flexibilities in the curriculum. Although this extension applies only to the Romanian Language subject, the timeline for adopting the new high school curricula remains unchanged.
David stated that critical reactions to the curriculum proposals are normal and that it is the specialists, not the ministry, who formulated the proposals. He assured that at the end of the consultation period, a decision will be made based on the feedback received, emphasizing that it is not the minister's responsibility to decide the content of the programs, but that of the committee of specialists.
