At the 2026 Asian Physics Olympiad, held between May 17 and 25 in Busan, South Korea, the Romanian team achieved remarkable results, winning three silver medals, three bronze medals, and an honorable mention.
Five of the medalists are students of the International High School of Computer Science in Bucharest, while the other two come from the 'Dragoș Vodă' National College in Sighetu Marmației and the 'Emil Racoviță' National College in Cluj-Napoca. Among the awardees are Raul Covrig and Teodor Bichir, who won silver medals, and Vlad Bolohan, Bogdan Ciocârlan, and Bogdan Rusea, who won bronze medals. Albert Lupu received an honorable mention.
The Ministry of Education congratulated the students, teachers, and parents for their support, emphasizing the effective coordination of the Olympiad by the Directorate of Olympiads, Competitions, Partnerships, and Extracurricular Education.
