The Ministry of Education has announced the reorganization of 507 school units, which will become structures attached to other units, without physically closing.

The Ministry of Education has received the proposals for the reorganization of the school network, resulting in 507 units with legal personality will be assigned to other units. This follows an analysis which revealed that 850 units did not meet the minimum threshold of pupils according to Law 141/2025. The change of status does not imply the physical closure of the units, the relocation of educational activities or the relinquishment of posts, except for the principals of the reorganized units.
