Independent MEP Nicu Ștefănuță announced that nearly 40,000 Romanian students will receive scholarships from European funds, as a result of his efforts to find financial solutions. Universities in Romania are invited to apply until March 6 to enroll eligible students, each receiving a monthly amount of 925 lei, essential for continuing their studies.

This initiative comes in the context of reducing the scholarship fund from 1.7 billion lei to 1.2 billion lei. Nicu Ștefănuță collaborated with the Ministry of Education and the European Commission to access the European Social Fund, thus ensuring the necessary support for students. He emphasizes the importance of these scholarships, stating that being a student should not be a luxury. Universities will have the responsibility to manage the selection and payments for students.
