At the Economic Forum in Davos, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, announced major initiatives to support European companies. The first priority is the creation of a European enterprise structure, called EU Inc., which will introduce a unique set of rules to facilitate the operations of companies in all member states. Entrepreneurs will be able to register a company online within 48 hours, benefiting from a uniform capital regime.
The second priority focuses on developing a single capital market that will allow businesses to access funding at lower costs, through proposals for integration and oversight of the financial market.
Finally, von der Leyen emphasized the need for an energy union to ensure an interconnected and accessible energy market, highlighting the disparities in energy prices in Europe. These measures are essential for supporting economic growth and innovation in the region.
