According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), the unemployment rate in Romania rose to 6% in November 2025, registering an increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to October, when the rate was 5.9%. The total number of unemployed, estimated for November, was 493,700 people, an increase from 487,300 in October 2025 and from 455,400 in November 2024. The unemployment rate was higher for men (6.1%) compared to women (5.9%). Additionally, the unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years) was alarmingly high, reaching 26.9% during the period of July-September 2025. Among adults (25-74 years), the unemployment rate was 4.7%, with a slight difference between genders.
