The inauguration of the Spătaru overpass has eliminated a major restriction for traffic between Muntenia and Moldova, significantly improving traffic conditions, especially with the winter holidays approaching. Before completion, drivers were redirected to temporary side lanes, causing traffic jams. The overpass includes a new wear layer on DN2, connecting this road, considered dangerous, with the future A7 highway. Although the Pietroasele – Buzău lot faced administrative delays, work began in March 2024, with an investment of 1.09 billion lei. Uninterrupted traffic on the highway from Bucharest to Focșani is estimated for December 2025, providing a fast and safe alternative to DN2, essential for economic development and road safety in the region. The inauguration of the overpass represents an important step in the realization of the Moldova Highway, bringing hope for the completion of the project.
