During a recent meeting, the Romanian Prime Minister discussed with the OMV Petrom delegation, led by CEO Alfred Stern, the company's development strategy for the current year, which includes a record budget of 9.4 billion lei. The main project, Neptun Deep, aimed at exploring natural gas in the Black Sea, is on the right track, with production expected to start next year. OMV Petrom, controlled by the Austrian group OMV, collaborates closely with Romgaz, aiming to capitalize on gas for domestic consumption and export, thus contributing to Romania's energy security.
Additionally, the discussions also addressed issues related to fuel supply in the context of global tensions. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of OMV Petrom as the main fuel supplier in Romania and ensured close collaboration to overcome current challenges. OMV Petrom is the largest investor in the Romanian energy sector, making a significant contribution to the state budget. Other officials from the Government and representatives of OMV Petrom also attended the meeting.
