The National Bank of Romania (BNR) announced an increase in the three-month ROBOR index, which reached 5.90% per year, compared to 5.88% in the previous meeting. At the beginning of 2025, ROBOR was 5.92%. Additionally, the six-month ROBOR index, used for variable-rate mortgage loans, rose to 5.95% per year, up from 5.90%. The 12-month ROBOR index reached 6.00% per year, an increase from 5.97%. In contrast, the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by OUG 19/2019, is 5.68% per year, calculated as the average of daily interest rates from the third quarter of 2025. These increases in the ROBOR index will influence the costs of consumer and mortgage loans in lei.
