The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that gas from the Black Sea will be directed towards petrochemicals in Romania, especially towards Azomureș, which will deliver fertilizers directly to farmers through a system of vouchers.

Negotiations for the acquisition of Azomureș by Romgaz are ongoing, with the aim of finalizing the transaction in accordance with the legislation.

Azomureș, the largest producer of chemical fertilizers in Romania, has announced measures for staff reduction, affecting over 2,500 jobs, due to uncertainties related to gas supply. The company mentioned that Romgaz has not submitted a takeover offer, although negotiations are ongoing.
