The European Commission has launched a set of seven measures to reduce energy prices in Europe, emphasizing that these remain high compared to major competitors, affecting industrial competitiveness and the quality of life of citizens.
Among the proposed measures are: reducing taxes in the energy sector, diversifying gas sources through international collaborations, improving interconnections and internal networks, maximizing the use of state aid, supporting industries by collaborating with financial institutions, maximizing the use of EU Cohesion Funds, and accelerating the authorization process for renewable energy. The Commissioner for Energy, Dan Jørgensen, emphasized the importance of these measures to provide quick relief to citizens and businesses affected.
