The BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange recorded a depreciation of 0.4% an hour after the opening of the trading session on Friday, March 13, with a total turnover of 11.5 million lei. Most indices are in negative territory, with stocks such as Purcari (-2.3%), Electrica (-2.1%), and OMV Petrom (-1.2%) dragging down the BET dynamics. However, Transgaz and BRD SocGen had positive developments, gaining 1.9% and 1.2%, respectively. On the other hand, Western European stock exchanges opened lower, influenced by the conflict in the Middle East and the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, while the price of Brent oil exceeded 100 dollars, generating concerns about inflation. The BET index remains, however, up by 2.5% in the last week and 15% since the beginning of the year.
