The Bucharest Stock Exchange opened Wednesday's session lower, with the main indices recording negative variations approximately 30 minutes after trading began. Total turnover stood at 8.72 million lei, equivalent to 1.63 million euros.

The BET index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid listed companies, was down 0.09%. BET-Plus was down 0.07%, BET-XT lost 0.14%, while BET-BK depreciated by 0.40%.

The steepest losses were recorded by the BET-FI index, of financial investment companies, which fell by 1.03%, and by BET AeRO, with a decline of 0.43%. Meanwhile, the BET-NG index, of energy and utilities companies, advanced by 0.11%.

Leading the gains were Carbochim, with 11.61%, Eforie, with 9.20%, and Rompetrol Rafinare, with 2.99%. The largest declines were recorded by Compania Energopetrol, which lost 12.02%, Mecanica Ceahlău, down 10.83%, and Bucur SA București, down 4.27%.
