BVB broadly lower at Monday’s close / BET falls 2.59%

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed Monday’s session lower, amid a broad decline in the main indices. The BET index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most-traded companies on the Regulated Market, fell 2.59% to 31,908.78 points.

Total trading value amounted to 117.5 million lei, equivalent to approximately 22.3 million euros. The BET-Plus index declined 2.52%, while BET-XT, which includes the 25 most liquid stocks, lost 2.53%.

The largest declines were recorded by the BET-NG index, covering energy and utilities companies, which fell 3.08%, and BET-BK, a benchmark for investment fund returns, which dropped 2.03%. BET-FI fell 0.3%, while BET AeRO declined 0.47%.

The most-traded stocks were those of Banca Transilvania, with transactions worth nearly 20.6 million lei, followed by Electro-Alfa International and Romgaz. At the opposite end, Prebet, SIF Hoteluri and Impact Developer&Contractor posted the best performances, while Armătura, Mecanica Ceahlău and Aquila recorded the most significant losses.
