The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) surpassed the threshold of 100 billion euros for the first time at the end of 2025, the highest level in the last 19 years, according to a PwC Romania report. The growth was 49% compared to 2024, with significant contributions from the regulated market and the SMT/AeRO segment.
The BET index increased by 46%, reaching 24,439 points, while BET-TR advanced by 55%. Three large initial public offerings took place, and the number of retail investors grew by 26%, reaching 285,000.
The most traded stocks were Banca Transilvania and OMV Petrom.
The stock market capitalization relative to GDP was 27.7%, below other markets in the region.
The bond market reached a record of 6.3 billion euros, most of which were government securities.
