The average net salary increased by 5.3% in December 2025 compared to the previous month, reaching 5,914 lei

The average net salary was 5,914 lei in December 2025, registering an increase of 299 lei (+5.3%) compared to November 2025, while the average gross salary reached 9,868 lei.

The highest salaries were observed in crude oil extraction (13,012 lei) and IT (12,588 lei), while the lowest were in hotels and restaurants (3,557 lei) and in the manufacturing of clothing (3,581 lei). Compared to December 2024, the average net salary increased by 4.8%. The real salary index was 95.5% compared to December 2024, but increased by 105.1% compared to the previous month. Salary increases were influenced by the granting of occasional bonuses, and the most significant increases were recorded in the electricity sector (+28.4%) and in financial intermediation (+26.4%). In the public sector, slight increases were observed in health (+0.3%), but decreases in education (-2.5%) and public administration (-0.4%).
