From August 1, Romania will implement tax hikes, estimated to bring 9.5 billion lei to the budget in 2025. VAT will rise from 19% to 21%, leading to higher prices for consumers. Excise duties on fuel and other products will also be increased, generating additional revenue. Pensioners with incomes above 3,000 lei will pay a 10% health contribution, affecting 1.78 million people. The government expects these measures to have a significant impact on budget revenues.
