Tanczos Barna, the Deputy Prime Minister of Romania, stated that the budget for the year 2026 will not be proposed in Parliament earlier than mid-February, emphasizing that any delay could affect the absorption of funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). He mentioned that, regardless of the reform in administration or other laws, the budget must be advanced. Barna stressed the importance of the PNRR for governance, stating that European funds are essential and that the priority must be their absorption, in order to meet the established indicators. Additionally, the Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, confirmed that the budget is on a straight path, with a clear timeline for approval. During the first Coalition meeting of this year, party leaders discussed the necessary reforms and sensitive topics that have generated tensions among partners.
