Silver, known as the "Devil's Metal" due to its volatility, reached a historic high of $54.47 an ounce in October 2025, recording a 71% increase compared to the previous year. This increase was fueled by a severe supply deficit and robust global demand, both from investors and industrial uses. In India, prices hit a record of 170,415 rupees/kg, driven by the agricultural season and the Diwali festival, while silver reserves in London have significantly decreased.
Additionally, borrowing costs for silver have risen drastically, reaching annual interest rates of up to 200%. Industrial demand is continuously expanding, due to the energy transition, with silver being essential for solar panels, electronics, and electric vehicles. Analysts predict that silver prices will continue to rise in the coming years, considering the current dynamics of the market.
