The volume of construction works increased in 2025 by 8% compared to 2024, with significant increases in capital repair works and new construction.

The National Institute of Statistics (INS) reported an 8% increase in the volume of construction works in 2025, compared to 2024. This increase was supported by major repair works, which rose by 45.6%, and new constructions, with a growth of 5.5%. However, maintenance and current repair works decreased by 4.2%.


By categories, non-residential buildings increased by 13%, residential ones by 11.4%, and engineering constructions by 4.5%.


Compared to November 2025, the volume of works increased by 37.2%, with significant increases in all categories.


In December 2025, compared to December 2024, the volume of works increased by 5.3%, with a 31.1% increase in major repairs, but a decrease in residential buildings and engineering constructions.


Seasonally adjusted, the volume increased by 3.8%, highlighting a general trend of expansion in the construction sector.
