Siegfried Mureșan, the European Parliament's chief negotiator for the 2028-2034 multiannual budget, underlined the importance of maintaining funding for the Common Agricultural Policy and Cohesion Policy. He said the EP would reject budgets that do not provide sufficient resources for these areas. The European Commission has proposed a €2 trillion budget, but Mureșan warned that farmers should not have to compete for funds with other regions. He called for clarity and stability in support for European farmers.
