Samsung unveiled on Wednesday, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London, its new smart glasses, which come with advanced features designed to compete with market leader, Meta.

The device is equipped with an integrated camera that can take photos and videos, as well as read information from the surroundings, turning it into notes. Using artificial intelligence, the glasses can summarize long messages received on the phone, relaying the information through the built-in speakers. Samsung is also testing a gesture control system, which will allow users to command the glasses through hand movements.

The glasses are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 processor and require a constant connection to a smartphone.

The company has not announced the price, but it expects them to be positioned in the premium segment, with price estimates between 600 and 700 dollars.

Samsung's entry into this market represents a major challenge for Meta, which holds 69.2% of the global smart glasses market. Analysts emphasize that Samsung's success will depend on its ability to offer distinct features compared to Meta's products.
