The analysis of average salaries in Europe reveals considerable differences between Eastern and Western countries. In 2024, Luxembourg ranks first, with an average annual salary of approximately 83,000 euros, due to a strong economy supported by well-paying industries such as IT and finance. The country also benefits from an automatic salary indexing system, which adjusts incomes based on inflation, thus protecting the purchasing power of employees. In contrast, Romania, with lower average salaries, still surpasses Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, and Slovakia, having a level similar to Poland. This analysis, based on Eurostat and OECD data, highlights the economic disparities in Europe, where some employees earn less than 20,000 euros a year, while others have salaries comparable to those in the United States.
