The National Bank of Romania announced that the national currency gained ground on Wednesday, with one euro quoted at 5.0665 lei, down from 5.0772 lei on Tuesday. The dollar also rose to 4.3035 lei, sterling to 5.8933 lei and the Swiss franc to 5.4295 lei. The gold price was 462.2175 lei per gram, slightly up from the previous day.
