Romania will record its highest wheat harvest since 1997 in the 2025-2026 growing season, which starts on July 1, 2025, with an estimated production of 12.2 million tons, compared to 10.2 million tons in the current season. This increase is due to better yields and the expansion of cultivated areas. Romania's importance on the world wheat market has increased and exports have now overtaken those of France. Harvest will start in four weeks and forecasts indicate favorable weather for crop development.
