Romania manufactured over 236,000 cars in the first half of the year, maintaining its position at 6th in the EU, but with a decrease of 6.5% compared to last year.

In the first half of 2023, Romania produced nearly 236,000 cars, which represents almost 4% of the total in the European Union, ranking sixth. Production decreased by 6.5% compared to the previous year, influenced by reduced demand for certain models and the cancellation of the scrappage program. In total, the European automotive industry produced 5.9 million vehicles, with Germany leading at 2.1 million.
