The Ministry of Agriculture has formally asked the European Commission for financial aid from the agricultural reserve in view of the severe losses suffered by farmers in the fruit and wine sectors due to the late frost in spring 2025. Over 16,400 hectares have been affected and financial losses exceed €49 million. Minister Florin Barbu emphasized the need to activate European support mechanisms to prevent the collapse of these essential sectors. The proposal includes emergency support of at least €3,000/ha to restart production.
