The Foreign Ministers of Romania, Oana Ţoiu, and the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper, agreed to establish a working group dedicated to trade and investments, with the aim of identifying priority areas and opportunities of mutual interest. This decision was made during Ţoiu's working visit to the United Kingdom.

In the first 10 months of 2025, trade exchanges between the two countries reached 3.48 billion euros, with the United Kingdom being the 11th largest foreign direct investor in Romania.

The working group will focus on stimulating investments in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, retail, health, technology, and IT.

Officials also discussed the entry into force of an agreement to eliminate double taxation on income and capital gains between Romania and the United Kingdom.
