According to an analysis conducted by Divo Pulitika, Romania has achieved the best stock market performance among major equity markets worldwide in the last ten years, with a total return of 758% of the BET-TR index. An investment of 1,000 euros would now be worth approximately 8,580 euros. Romania has surpassed markets such as Slovenia and Taiwan, thanks to sectoral diversification, including the banking and energy sectors.
The growth of revenues and the expansion of credit have supported the banking sector, while the energy sector benefits from major natural gas exploitation projects. Additionally, Romania has continued to develop in 2026, with a return of 32% since the beginning of the year.
The solid performance has been supported by companies such as Nuclearelectrica and Romgaz, as well as by emerging entrepreneurship. Romania thus aligns with growth trends in Central and Eastern Europe, providing investors with valuable diversification opportunities. Investors can access the Romanian market through the InterCapital BET-TRN UCITS ETF, which tracks the performance of the Bucharest Stock Exchange's benchmark index.
