The Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, commented on the sanctions imposed by the United States on the company Lukoil, emphasizing that Romania needs to be cautious about their impact on production within its territory. Miruță mentioned that there are debts of the company which, in the event of a withdrawal, could leave the Romanian state with significant losses. He assured that the Ministry of Finance is monitoring the situation and seeking solutions to protect Romania's interests. The American sanctions include the freezing of Lukoil's assets and the prohibition of business with American companies, which could affect the company's operations in Europe.
