President Nicușor Dan commented on the reconfirmation of Romania's sovereign rating at the Baa3 level by the rating agency Moody's, highlighting the progress made in balancing public finances.
Dan emphasized that maintaining this rating is the result of institutional efforts, citizens, and the business environment, having a significant impact on the state's borrowing costs and investor confidence. However, he warned that Romania still has a lot of work to do, highlighting the need for a budget for 2027 and measures to limit spending.
The president stressed the importance of accelerating investments and stimulating the private environment to return to economic growth.
He also mentioned a principle agreement among the parties to assume the goal of joining the euro, emphasizing that this process requires prioritization and collaboration among parties for the good of the citizens.
