Cseke Attila, the Minister of Development, announced the intention to propose a new salary grid for municipalities that cannot cover their salary expenses from their own revenues. This measure will be implemented through a normative act with the force of law and will come into effect within 60 days, until the adoption of the new unified salary law. Currently, only 644 out of the 3,228 local authorities can cover personnel expenses from their own revenues. Additionally, the government will abolish certain positions, such as those of advisors in municipalities, but will allow an increase in the staffing norm for localities with a population between 20,000 and 50,000 inhabitants, thus facilitating the allocation of a larger number of employees.
