The National Bank of Romania announced an official exchange rate increase for the euro, which reached 5.0724 lei, compared to 5.0722 lei the previous day. The dollar rose to 4.3752 lei from 4.3658 lei. The pound sterling and the Swiss franc also appreciated slightly to 5.8607 lei and 5.4419 lei respectively. In contrast, the price of gold fell to 467.9189 lei per gram.
