The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, had a working meeting with representatives of the Investment and Development Bank (BID) and the 12 commercial banks involved in the portfolio guarantee program for SMEs.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how this program can be improved to provide SMEs with bank loans for working capital and investments. Nazare emphasized the importance of accelerating the program, stating that it can mobilize approximately 6 billion lei in the economy. He mentioned that the portfolio guarantees offered by BID allow SMEs to obtain loans with reduced risk and more favorable interest rates. The Minister stressed the need to adjust the program to the current market realities, based on feedback from banks and companies. Nazare promised that meetings will continue periodically to monitor the program's efficiency and ensure that funding reaches quickly to the firms that contribute to job creation and economic growth.
