Microsoft announced financial results that exceeded expectations for the first quarter of 2026, ending on March 31. Total revenues reached $82.89 billion, an 18% increase compared to the same period last year and surpassing analysts' estimates of $81.39 billion. Net profit rose to $31.78 billion, equivalent to $4.27 per share. The Azure segment and other cloud services recorded a 40% growth, exceeding the forecast of 39.3%. Revenues from the Intelligent Cloud segment were $34.68 billion, and the number of commercial subscriptions to Copilot increased from 15 million to over 20 million. Revenues from artificial intelligence exceeded $9 billion in this quarter, with estimates suggesting that Microsoft could record approximately $37 billion from AI throughout the year 2026. However, the company's shares fell by 1% after the report was published, reflecting investors' concerns about the profitability of these investments.
