At the end of May 2025, mandatory private pension funds reported assets of 166.2 billion lei, up 19% year-on-year. Investments were concentrated 94% in Romanian assets, the majority of which were government securities and shares listed on the BVB. Contributions in May amounted to RON 1.95 billion and the number of participants reached 8,347,560. Active funds include Metropolitan Life, BCR, BRD, NN and others.
