The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) has decided to invest over 24 million lei excluding VAT in securing the new data center intended for managing the IT system for the new identity cards. The contract, worth 24.23 million lei, was won by Dendrio Innovations, which submitted a bid in a tender with an initially estimated budget of 27.99 million lei.

Dendrio Innovations will implement security solutions to protect the personal data of Romanians, having a duration of 150 days to complete the project. Additionally, the company has obtained another contract for the development of a chatbot based on artificial intelligence, aimed at automating communication between institutions and citizens, with a value of over 10 million lei.

Dendrio Innovations, part of the Bittnet Systems group, has significant experience in the field, reporting business of nearly 95 million lei in 2024. Authorities are also preparing for the implementation of the new electronic identity cards, and Romanians are advised to familiarize themselves with the updated rules for obtaining them.
