LPP Logistics has opened a new automated e-commerce warehouse in the Bolintin-Deal commune, near Bucharest, covering an area of 65,000 sqm. It is equipped with a fleet of nearly 1,100 robots, allowing the processing of over 80,000 orders daily for markets in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, and Hungary. The new unit, which has been operational since the end of October, is the ninth in the LPP Logistics portfolio and comes as a response to the fire that affected another warehouse in the summer.
The warehouse can store up to 7.5 million items and is equipped with 630,000 automated storage spaces, managed by 766 autonomous robots. The picking process takes place in a 'goods-to-person' model, enhancing efficiency and ergonomics of work. With a sorter for shipments capable of processing 14,000 packages per hour, the new infrastructure will significantly contribute to strengthening LPP's presence in Southeast Europe and improving fast deliveries to customers.
