On Friday, the leu edged up slightly against the euro to 5.0545 lei from 5.0578 lei on Thursday. The US dollar rose from 4.3387 lei to 4.3573 lei and the pound sterling was quoted at 5.8454 lei, up from 5.8482 lei. The Swiss franc fell slightly to 5.3834 lei, while the price of gold rose to 466.5432 lei per gram.
