Larry Fink, the director of BlackRock, stated to the BBC that a price of 150 dollars per barrel for oil could lead to a severe global recession.

He emphasized that if Iran continues to be a threat and prices remain high, the global economy will suffer. BlackRock, with assets of 14 trillion dollars, is already observing movements in the financial markets due to conflicts in the Middle East.

Larry Fink presented two scenarios: one optimistic, in which the conflict is resolved and prices decrease, and one pessimistic, with oil maintained at high values, which would particularly affect low-income individuals. He highlighted the importance of diversifying energy sources and dismissed the idea of a repeat of the financial crisis of 2007-2008, believing that financial institutions are safer now.
