The Greek group Jumbo announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, recording a growth of +7.3% at the group level. The largest increases were observed in the markets of Greece and Bulgaria, each with +11%. In Romania, however, the chain adopted a strategy of asset consolidation, completing the acquisition of the store in Militari Shopping Center, marking the first transaction of this type for the year 2026.

Although the net sales of the parent company increased by +11% compared to the same period last year, Romania recorded a slight contraction, in contrast to other markets that reported double-digit growth. The group's management warned about the fragility of the economic environment, mentioning that instability in the Middle East and rising oil prices are affecting consumer behavior and logistics costs, which are essential for retailers that depend on large volumes of goods.
