According to the report, 95% of investments were made locally, with 87% denominated in lei. In May, contributions totaled 76 million lei, with an average contribution of 167 lei. Government securities had the largest share in assets, followed by equities and investment funds. Almost 912,931 Romanians participated in voluntary pension funds. Starting August 1, 2025, they will pay a 10% health contribution on incomes above 3,000 lei, considered double taxation by specialists.
