The shares of companies listed on the Regulated Market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and the ETFs available in Bucharest can be traded through the global platform Interactive Brokers, starting from August 13.
This integration offers international investors direct access to the Romanian market, eliminating the need for a local intermediary. Remus Vulpescu, CEO of BVB, emphasized the importance of this initiative, mentioning that the Romanian market has mobilized over 5 billion euros in the last year and generated a total return of over 80% for the main stock index.
Milan Galik, CEO of Interactive Brokers, highlighted the growing importance of Romania for international investors. This integration is essential for Romanian companies looking to attract international capital, facilitating access for investors from markets such as the USA, the UK, and Japan. With over 300 listed companies, BVB continues to expand and diversify its investor base and improve liquidity. Dragoș Mesaroș, an investor, emphasized the need to promote BVB to attract new issuers and respond to the increased demand for shares.
