In August 2025, the annual inflation in the European Union was stable at 2.4%, the same as in the previous month, according to Eurostat. Romania is again in first place in the EU with an inflation rate of 8.5%, well above the average. The lowest rates were recorded in Cyprus (0.0%), France (0.8%), and Italy (1.6%). The main contributions to inflation in the euro area came from services and food products. In Romania, prices have increased significantly, especially for electricity, which rose by 65.73%.
