The European currency fell slightly against the Romanian leu to 5.0795 lei, while the pound sterling and the Swiss franc fell to 5.8584 lei and 5.4530 lei. In contrast, the US dollar rose to 4.3468 lei. The gram of gold was valued at 470.5238 lei, up more than 4 lei from Friday. The IMF unit fell to 5.9491 lei. The rates are calculated by the NBR on the basis of quotes from authorized banks.
