The National Bank of Romania reported a slight appreciation of the European currency, with the euro quoted at 5.0667 lei, compared to 5.0553 lei on Wednesday. The U.S. dollar also rose to 4.4920 lei and the pound sterling to 6.0523 lei. The Swiss franc is quoted at 5.4157 lei and the price of gold fell to 473.7836 lei per gram.
