The Iranian state television reported on Saturday that European countries have begun negotiations with the Revolutionary Guards navy to obtain permission to cross the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil trade, which has been blocked since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East.
After ships from East Asia, especially from China, Japan, and Pakistan, were authorized to pass, Europeans are now seeking to obtain the same permissions. The head of the parliamentary committee for national security in Iran, Ebrahim Azizi, announced that the country has established a traffic management mechanism in the strait, which will allow only commercial vessels that cooperate with Iran to cross.
Additionally, fees will be charged for these services. Iran has already allowed the passage of over 30 Chinese ships, while the United States continues to blockade Iranian ports, maintaining tensions in the region.
